Past Governor Kiwanis Malaysia District 
ASPAC Secretary Treasurer 2023-2024

Dato’ Stewart Labrooy has been a Kiwanian since 1994 when he joined the Kiwanis Club of Klang. There he served as Secretary and President at club level and soon was elected as Area Coordinator of the then Malaysian Nation. Working with a team of dedicated Kiwanis members he led Malaysia to become a District in Formation in the year 2000 when the Malaysia District was successfully chartered. He then went on serve as District Treasurer, District Secretary and was elected District Governor for the year 2004-2005 during which he served as the Class Chairman for his team of 48 Governors.

He then went on serve the region as ASPAC Secretary Treasurer for multiple terms and as ASPAC Chairman in 2007-2008. He also served on the Kiwanis Malaysia District Board for multiple terms in various roles over the years and is currently serving as a member of the Kiwanis International Bylaws and Resolutions committee. He currently serves as ASPAC Secretary and Treasurer for the year 2022-2023.

His latest project was the digitalization of Kiwanis Asia Pacific through the creation of the ASPAC Virtual Office using the latest technologies available today which will be realized in full in  2023.

His home club, The Kiwanis Club of Klang, has had a signature project, the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Centre, since 1995. Started by his late wife Janet, It remains as a thriving centre of excellence today, serving over 60 children from the Klang Community.

Dato’ Stewart LaBrooy is the Executive Chairman of AREA Management Sdn. Bhd. a subsidiary of AREA Advisors Pte Ltd (AREA) an appointment he has taken since his retirement as CEO and Executive Director of Axis REIT Managers Bhd (ARMB) on 31 December 2015. With a career spanning over 40 years in the industrial space, he has spent well over a decade since 2005 in heading Axis REIT and establishing REITs as an important component of the capital markets.
