Amid the warm sunshine of Kagoshima, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as around 370 Kiwanis members gathered for the 45th Japan District Convention on the 13th of September, celebrating six decades of dedicated Kiwanis service in Japan. The day commenced with Past Governors Meeting, leading into an engaging District Board Meeting. As the House of Delegates convened, attendees learned about the generous disaster relief efforts sent to Taiwan, with a certificate of donation presented to KI Trustee Chang Ching Hsu for Taiwan District by Governor Shuji Miyasaki . The air was charged with anticipation as awards were presented, followed by enlightening reports from Service Leadership Program (SLP) members.
The celebration took a festive turn with a lively party, highlighted by a breathtaking drum performance from the “Tenso Korin Kirishima Kumendaiko Hozonkai,” the proud recipient of this year’s Japan Kiwanis Culture Award.
On the second day, participants had their choice of adventures, whether exploring the stunning local landscape, enjoying a round of golf, or diving into the SLP Leaders Education Conference, where the theme “We are the Green Generation!” sparked friendly competition. This hybrid gathering beautifully showcased the spirit of Kiwanis, where camaraderie and community service flourished, leaving everyone with lasting memories and a renewed sense of purpose.
Welcome to ASPAC Executive Board, District Governor Takao Nagoya, as duly elected Japan District Governor for 2024-2025.
