The 49th Southern Philippine District Convention in Ormoc City, held during the weekend of September 12th, was a vibrant celebration of service, culture, and community. Attended by Kiwanis leaders including KI President-Elect Michael Mulhaul, ASPAC Chair Huang Wu Tien, ASPAC Chair Sujan Shrestha (AY 2023-24), past ASPAC Chairs, and Kiwanians from other districts, the event was filled with meaningful activities. They engaged in community service by providing food and school supplies to children and proudly unveiled the Kiwanis waiting shed in Ormoc City, offering a safe space for children while waiting for transportation.
The district also raised Php 115,000 in on-the-spot donation drive for the Kiwanis Children Fund. With leadership education, cultural presentations, raffles, and fellowship nights highlighting the theme of service and solidarity, the convention recognized outstanding clubs and members and celebrated the successful term of Governor Gigi Chan Chu, who now serves as ASPAC Secretary. Leadership was then passed to District Governor Jimmy Go, marking a new chapter for the district as it continues its tradition of excellence in service and inspires members to uphold the Objects of Kiwanis. The future looks bright as the Southern Philippine District embarks on another year of impactful service under his guidance.
