PHILIPPINE LUZON DISTRICT will take you on a journey of life in rural areas, and the dances that you are about to witness were modified to a version of a metaphoric symbol of celebrating life and humanity from the point of view of the Cuyo, Palawan’s Mango Festival.
Pagtatanim (Planting) – although this version depicts the rice planting of our farmers; this also meant planting seedlings of Mangoes. Next is Pag-ani (Harvesting) from a small tree that blooms into a full mango tree, fruits are picked and placed in a “KAING” (basket). Lastly, we give you our version of the “Karatong” in flowers bloom, fun, and frolic celebrating the life of humanity.
