Bert West

KI President 2022-2023

Bert West of Divide, Colorado, U.S., was elected to a one-year term as president of Kiwanis International at the 2022 Kiwanis International Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was elected as a trustee of Kiwanis International in 2016.

An active, third-generation Kiwanis member of more than 34 years, West is proud to advocate for clubs and members and focuses on promoting growth at all levels of Kiwanis.

“Kids are kids everywhere,” he says. “They like to play and have fun together, whether they’re in Europe or the Philippines or Divide, Colorado — and adults in every part of the world want to help children. Kiwanis clubs give them that opportunity to make an impact.”

West is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Ute Pass-Woodland Park. He has served three terms as club president, two terms as division lieutenant governor and one term as governor of the Rocky Mountain District. He is a Charter Walter Zeller Fellow, George F. Hixson Fellow, Lusche Fellow and Tablet of Honor recipient. He also is a member of his home club’s Ute Pass Hall of Fame.

Outside of Kiwanis, West has spent his business career in the roofing industry. He sits on the board of directors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado.

West and his wife, Sandy, have two daughters, both of whom are members of Kiwanis clubs. He always has Ace “The Wonder Dog” by his side.
