For over twelve years, the Kiwanis Club of Eastern Antipolo in the Philippine Luzon District has been transforming the lives of children with physical disabilities through its wheelchair donation program. With nearly a thousand wheelchairs distributed across Luzon, the initiative has brought freedom, dignity, and independence to children who were once confined to their homes. Each wheelchair empowers a child to attend school, build friendships, and take part in community life.
This impactful project was recently named a FINALIST Group II at the 2025 Kiwanis Signature Project Contest during the Kiwanis International Convention in Pittsburgh, USA. Its success is built on strong partnerships with local Kiwanis clubs, hospitals, schools, and government agencies that help identify children most in need. By providing personalized mobility aids, the program addresses both physical limitations and emotional well-being. As the club continues to expand its reach, the project stands as a shining example of service that uplifts, includes, and transforms lives.
