38th Kiwanis Special Games: Fostering Inclusivity
The 38th Kiwanis Special Games, held on January 20th as part of the week-long celebration, emerged as a notable highlight. Drawing participation from over 500 children with special needs, the event exemplified a meticulously planned endeavor aimed at fostering inclusivity and unity. Through spirited competition, the games served as a platform to showcase the remarkable abilities and boundless potential of each participant. Beyond mere athletic feats, the event stood as a testament to the overarching ethos of acceptance and empowerment championed by the Kiwanis organization.
Honoring Dr. Jose Rizal: A National Tribute
In homage to the Philippines' national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, the district organized wreath-laying ceremonies across Luzon on January 21. This solemn gesture highlighted the district's commitment to embodying Rizal's values of leadership, patriotism, and service. Simultaneous wreath-laying activities across Philippine Luzon symbolized Kiwanis' dedication to embodying Dr. Rizal's principles in their community projects.
Kiwanis Night: A Tribute and Acknowledgment
As Kiwanis Week concluded, the district convened for Kiwanis Night on January 26, 2024. This event served as a meaningful culmination, recognizing and expressing gratitude to member clubs. A total of 126 clubs were honored for their prompt dues payment, demonstrating their commitment to the Kiwanis cause. Governor Glenda Hufano emphasized, "This is a strategy of the district to improve and expand membership growth." Additionally, 10 clubs received acknowledgment for enhancing the visibility of Kiwanis through community markers.
The week-long celebration reaffirmed the district's dedication to making a difference. With renewed energy, the district looks forward to embracing future challenges and opportunities, knowing that together, they can continue fostering lasting change for the better.
