Nature Warriors of Kiwanis Club of Stunning Davao Win GOLD at ICON 2025 for Protecting the Planet, One Child at a Time
When service meets purpose, great things happen. Out of more than 500 entries from around the world, the Kiwanis Club of Stunning Davao from Davao City, in the Southern Philippine District emerged victorious with the GOLD AWARD in Group 1 of the 2025 Kiwanis Signature Project Contest. Their winning project, Nature Warriors: A Kid Learns to Protect Nature, stood out not just for its impact, but for the heart and hope it instills in the next generation. The award was announced at the Kiwanis International Convention in Pittsburgh, where finalists were honored for their extraordinary work in serving children across the globe.
The Nature Warriors program brings environmental education and action directly to the children of isolated communities in the Davao region. In partnership with the Department of Education, the club provides school bags with supplies, dental kits, and books on nature, while installing waste segregation stations and leading lessons on eco-friendly habits. They organize coastal cleanups and will collaborate with a turtle sanctuary to teach hands-on marine conservation. Each child touched by the program becomes an advocate for nature, carrying the message home and creating ripples of change. It’s not just a Kiwanis project— it’s a living, growing legacy of the Green Generation.
