During Green Generation Week in the Southern Philippine District , the Kiwanis Club of Magandang Gensan, Kiwanis Club of Gensan Believers, Kiwanis Club of Digital Innovators, and Circle K of Digital Sparktech of Gensan Colleges joined together to celebrate Earth Day by launching the "Plastic for A Living" project.
This initiative included a redemption campaign and coastal clean-up, resulting in the collection of approximately 50 kilograms of empty plastic bottles. Repurposing these bottles as containers for household products not only promotes recycling but also addresses the need for affordable goods, benefiting the chosen Badjao community in Bawing.
By repurposing plastic bottles as containers, the campaign not only reduces waste but also provides practical solutions for daily living. It creates income opportunities, as the repurposed bottles can be sold or distributed within communities.
