In a poignant display of compassion, ASPAC Chair Belle Garcia took time to visit a shelter alongside District Governor Laxman Lamsal and KI Trustee Designate Mohan Lamsal promptly upon her arrival in Kathmandu for the Kiwanis Nepal District Convention 2023.
This shelter offers a nurturing haven for children with mental challenges and disabilities, including Down Syndrome. At the heart of this initiative is the Kiwanis Club of Peace Nepal, a steadfast supporter of Om Disabled Child Care Home. The club extends a lifeline of monthly support, providing necessities such as toiletries, food, and medicines. Beyond the basics, also contribute towards the rent of the facility—a testament to their dedication to fostering an environment of care and growth.
The visit highlighted the strength of these young minds and their unique journeys, as well as the ongoing construction of a three-story building propelled by donations from generous donors.
