As we mourn the loss of a remarkable leader, Kiwanis Asia-Pacific celebrates the beautiful life and commitment to the service of Past Kiwanis International President Dr. Juan F. Torres, Jr. His contributions to the Kiwanis family and his tireless efforts to better the lives of children have left an indelible imprint on our hearts. We are grateful for the privilege of having known and worked alongside him.

A distinguished nuclear medicine expert, embarked on his Kiwanis journey on September 5, 1977, inducted as Charter President for the Kiwanis Club of Antipolo. He was elected as the Kiwanis International President for the administrative year 2002-2003, becoming the first Asian to hold this prestigious position.

Through his effective mentorship, he nurtured Kiwanians who went on to become influential figures in the organization. Many of these leaders held prestigious positions as Trustees, ASPAC Chairs, District Governors, and even Kiwanis International Presidents. Their achievements are a testament to the immense impact that a single individual can have on the lives of many.

In this time of grief, let us find strength in unity and support one another. Together, we will continue to honor him by making a difference in the lives of children and upholding the values he held dear.

With heartfelt condolences to his family and his home district, Philippine Luzon.
