Mangrove Planting & Plastic Pollution Initiative

In an initiative to combat plastic pollution and protect our oceans, a collaborative effort of Kiwanis Southern Philippine District Division 7, Bantay Dagat Davao, and The Mangroves Davao, planted 200 mangrove trees along the coastline as part of World Earth Day 2024 celebrations and for ASPAC Green Generation Week.

This event also featured the ceremonial turnover of a giant fish-shaped structure designed to serve as a plastic waste receptacle, encouraging the community to dispose of plastic bottles responsibly; dubbed as Feed Me, Not The Ocean campaign. This visually captivating project highlights a shared commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship, exploring innovative strategies to address plastic waste.
