Teaching Children the Power of Choice: Kiwanis Club of NCT of India District’s Efforts Toward Plastic-Free Living

Every year on July 3, International Plastic Bag Free Day is commemorated to raise awareness about the detrimental impact of single-use plastic bags on the environment. This special day serves as a reminder to communities, organizations, and individuals across the globe to make a conscious effort to refrain from using plastic bags in their daily lives.

To foster sustainable habits, the Kiwanis Club of NCT of India Provisional District marks this significant day by organizing a community event where children are engaged in educational workshops that focus on teaching them alternative options to replace plastic containers. To highlight the use of materials such as old newspapers as substitutes for plastic, providing the children with practical knowledge and promoting sustainable practices within the community.

Bag Free World established International Plastic Bag Free Day as a global campaign aimed at eliminating the widespread use of single-use plastic bags worldwide. The primary objective of this initiative is to foster environmental preservation by advocating for the avoidance of plastic bags and the exploration of eco-friendly alternatives. The focus lies on promoting sustainable practices and encouraging individuals to make conscious choices that support our planet's well-being.
